Panem et circenses. Games and circus games. A brilliant way of keeping the masses in wonderland. No, not for Alice, for peasants like you and me. They were gladiators of the ancient Rome. Things have not changed. There can be only one. It is finally time for the final push. Destination finals. NBA playoffs 2005 are on their way. And nothing can stop them :)
Man that was a long introduction. I should think about writing a book or something. The audience laughs. It is my favourite time of the year (well apart from the exams...). This is what I wait for all year long. Great atheletes going at each other on the court chasing a funny looking round thing. And they do it for big bucks, those lucky bastards :)
The level
Everybody jumps to warp. A few fall of as time goes by and we are left with the cream of the crop. And a (new) champion is born. And the crowd goes wild.
Making the cut
New Jersey just made it. And on the final day of the regular season. Gotta give them props. Vince - half man, half amazing. And Jason Kidd is finally getting into a groove. And as if making the playoffs isn't enough, Richard Jefferson is coming back from a season ending injury. Whew. He will be the X-factor for sure, aldo not in playoff shape, he can still atract some defense attention. And that frees up some space for Air Canada. Sorry Air Jersey :)
But to tell the truth, I was routing for Cleveland to make the cut. But after recentnly seeing them play againt the Wizards, they are not a playoff team. At least not this year. You cannot take anything away from LeBron. He has been what everybody expected of him. A King. A Leader. The Goto guy. But even Michael couldn't do it alone. And he's only 20, so his time will come. Soon. LeBron, you've got my "Most Improved Player" award (sorry Primo

First of all, the Sonics kicked Sacramento's asses. I didin't see it coming, but they deserved it. Unfortunately for them, they have now ran into a wall - San Antonio :)
And the Pacers outplayed the Cetlics. It was decided in game 7, so I guess that almost doesn't count :P
And the second round? My money is on Miami, San Antonio, Detroit and Phoenix.
By the way, Steve Nash, is the MVP. Well deserved. And his coach is the coach of the year. Phoenix had a superb season thus far. Everything is possible if they stay healthy.
