Rebooting

As I wrote about this before (#1, #2, #3), I've joined the quest outlined by CSS Reboot. And since there's only 7 days to go (as of my writing this), lets take a closer look at what's in store for hribar.info.

Why?

CSS Reboot is a community event for web professionals. November 1st, 2005 at 12:00 GMT Rebooters from all over the world will launch their web standards-based redesigns (or designs) simultaneously, bringing traffic, interest and a little respect to their sites. There are no prizes or arbitrary winners, just great exposure and the knowledge that we all participated in something great.

- excerpt from the CSS Reboot site

That's essentialy it, well that and the challenge of making something brand spanking new. But I've gone a bit further than just a simple redesign of my site. Because I really like the current design, I decided to add a style switcher, so the visitors can choose wich design best suits them. But adding a style switcher means I had to add a lot of additional divs to accomodate the new design and still keep the old one. Therefore the structure described with XHTML is not really as it's supposed to be, but it still makes sence. Well sort of.

Palette

Another fallI spent quite some time browsing through colourlovers.com. And belive me, there's loads to browse through. But none of the palletes suited my mood, so I made a new one.

I know, I know. The colours clash :) Bare with me, it's my first colour palette.

Showoff

Here's just a few screenshots from todays photo session. It's just little details I like, so for the whole thing check back in on the 1st of November. Yeah, I tried to show you as little as possible :)

To-do list

And a week to do it all. Stay tuned :)
