Too cool for IE

Way too coolIf you are a web developer (or pretending to be one just 'cause it's a good way to pick up chicks and a real icebreaker at parties), you might've noticed IE sometimes shows sites slightly different from other modern browsers. In the times when W3C has already aired the CSS level 3 specs and guidlines, the folks at Micro$oft (no link on purpose) still haven't found the time to properly implement the level 1 recommendations (just for the record, the final revision of CSS1 was made on January 11th 1999). And their IE7 is kinda late for the party it didn't get invited to in the first place.

That's why pages like Too Cool For IE and Browse Happy have been set up, to educate the not-so-savy web audience that there is a better way to browse and that there really are other browsers out there beside IE. Scout's honor.

The reason I'm writing this is that the last couple of days I've spent fixing IE bugs. Most of the things I could remedy quick and easy, but the thing that IE makes a mess of things is floating. In comes clearfix. It solved all of my problems and it got IE back on track, so bookmark, del.icio.us, write down or take a picture of this link so you'll be able to tell your grandchildren horror stories about the big blue E and floating.
